With the first half of 2008 now behind us, I note that our business activities have by and large proceeded according to plan. Our product tanker fleet has generated revenues somewhat over expectations, despite at times a very weak freightmarket, thanks to our fixed contracts with guaranteed minimum freight rates. Concordia Maritime in short

Concordia Maritime is an international tanker shipping company listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm. The company has a newbuilding program comprising ten tankers, which are being built in accordance with the MAX concept. Six of these tankers have been delivered. These vessels, P-MAX, are product tankers of about 65,200 DWT. The MAX concept means that the vessels are designed for maximum loading capacity in shallow waters.

Fleet & Market

The MAX concept takes safety to a new level. The vessels are built with double systems for propulsion and manoeuvring, just like an aircraft. They have two separate engine rooms separated by fireproof and watertight bulkheads. All control systems are separated and each engine has its own fuel system. Additionally, double rudders and propellers provide better manoeuvrability, which is also a major advantage in terms of efficiency and safety.
